There was no spot for mounting so this had to be a custom installation. I decided to mount a piece of plexiglass along the underside of the dash along the plastic piece that was there and use this under the cabinet style radio mount to mount it to place the radio in. The radio mount itself is made of thick ABS plastic and was cut for a single den radio with a single opening in the back for a wires and a couple of knockouts if you need extra extra room for wiring. this is not cheap plastic it's made of high quality ABS that sticker than most of these that I've seen. The only thing that I would caution you about is in my case I was interested in putting a waterproof and dustless cover on the outside to protect the radio since it's in a side by side but the outer perimeter is not large enough to allow for the mounting of a of a waterproof dust enclosure. Overall it's high quality item good value for the money and I would buy again if I did not require room for a dust proof door.5Good ProductOverall a good product for the price. Used to install a radio in a 1951 ford. Had to put a few pieces of cardboard under the radio to keep it from sagging and leaving a small gap between the face and radio. No issues once I did that4Could use some simple instructionsSome instructions would be nice. So I'll give you the benefit of my experience. I pulled it out of the plastic bag and noticed that a plastic pan is all there is. You take the DIN adapter that comes with the radio (thin sheet metal rectangle with a bunch of geometric cutouts in it) and push it into the hole from the front. Don't trim the plastic if you can avoid it. It fits tight and a loose fit will let the radio fall out. There's a slight rim around the front edge of the DIN adapter that will be flush with the plastic on the pan.Use a screwdriver to push the appropriate tabs on the DIN adapter up and down to hold it tightly in place. Just the row closest to the back side of the front of the pan. Don't let any tabs bend down into the area where the radio slides in. Check the DIN for play. If it's tight, you're done. Find some screws that will secure it to your mount point, line it up and install the pan. Remove the pan, install the radio, put the wires and antenna cable in the back hole and connect to the radio, and then remount it using the screw holes you already prepared. Best way is to put one screw in the middle of each side and work outward from there.4A little on the flimsy side but it works great with certain applicationsA little on the flimsy side but it works great with certain applications.
