Customer Reviews

Great kit to have for a tablet workstation!Great all-around tablet riser.I use this primarily for a Wacom Cintiq 13HD or an Ipad Pro 12.9. Sturdy and wonderfully built. Please note, though, that I couldn't use this properly with a thicker case on my iPad. I am now using a naked iPad Pro with just the smart cover. My thick case, with velcro for a handle would have the tablet slip out. So, be wary about your case choices! :)The highest setting is locked in by plastic locks, so be careful to store and setup. So far, I've yet to feel like I would break it during my daily setup and tear-down of my office workstation, so I think if you understand that care still needs to go into handling these things, you will be fine.I love the wrist pad and Apple Pencil stand it comes with, as well! The wrist pad smells on its first exposure to the world, but disappears after a while. So power through it unless you are sensitive to smells. I had no issues. :)5Should have bought this years agoI draw on my iPad almost every day and saw this when it came out but didn t think it was worth the money. After dealing with neck pain and migraines from staring down and drawing I decided I would give it a try. This is the best money I ve ever spent to make my life easier and I use it every day. Now I don t know what I did before I had this drafting easel for my iPad. It s sturdy and stays in place when I draw. I wish it had one more stand for making it a bit higher but I m not removing a star for that because it s just so awesome. If you re thinking of buying this, just save your time from looking at cheaper versions and get it now. It s worth it, made very well and I know it will last.UPDATE:The plastic hinges that connect to the springs broke on my stand, and the feet would no longer close. This was unfortunate since it was too late according to Amazon to do anything about it, since the warranty expired a month earlier. I contacted the seller and sent photos. They sent me an entire new stand and it was in the mail the next business day. These people stand behind their products and were more than willing to fix the issue. I use this stand almost on a daily basis and it's well worth it. Would highly recommend.5A Solid, Rigid Support for the Graphic ArtistWhen Apple introduced the 12.9 iPad Pro and the Apple pen, they invaded the rarified turf of the touchscreen graphics tablets to plant the Apple IOS logo near the top of the heap, and they did so at less than 1/2 the entry price of the single serious competitor. Add the Astropad app, and it becomes possible to operate Photoshop on your Mac with the iPad as a fully interactive drawing surface. What Apple did not supply was a workable stand, and it's important, because to use any high quality graphics tablet at its best resolution means needing an unyielding surface that won't wiggle when one is fiddling with the details. Enter Elevation Lab's multi-pound creation: It holds the iPad at any one of four angles ranging from nearly horizontal to roughly 45 degrees. The changes in angle are achieved by removing the iPad and choosing no legs or one of three legs of differing fixed heights. The base is steel, the legs are heavily built nylon impregnated plastics. The base and the bottom lip are covered in some sort of soft rubber like material to both grip the iPad and prevent scratches. While it is possible to slide the iPad across the base, it takes deliberate effort, and would never occur in the course of drawing. That's it. For a bit extra they throw in a silicone style wrist rest matched to the width of the iPad and a heavy, rubberlike non-charging stand for the Apple Pencil. Both work well and have "sticky" micro-cellular suction on the bottom. I removed the protective plastic from the bottom of the Pencil stand, as it's not as stable as I'd like without the stickiness. It can be repeatedly moved without loss of stickiness. I've left the wrist rest covered, as it's quite heavy and not inclined to slide. I use it in a number of positions on my desk. Elevation Labs sells the pencil stand separately, but I've not found the wrist rest on their site as a separate item. However it seems very durably made, and I expect that with reasonable care it will last for years. In use, I find that stand does exactly as promised. Though clearly designed for the 12.9 model in horizontal use, it works well in vertical mode, with about 1/3 of the iPad showing above the top of the stand. A smaller iPad would work as well, as the entire upper surface of the stand is is protectively coated.Best feature: the solid gravity only connection between the iPad and desk: It does not wiggle.Downsides: It's not really moment to moment portable. Though it fits inside a laptop compartment in a pack or bag, Elevation Labs built this for desk use: it's much too heavy for lap use (though you can always pluck your iPad from the stand - it's not mechanically fastened).5Nice idea, but needs improvingI loved this product. I want to give it 5 stars! I use it at my desk, it s never left my home. Sometimes I fold it flat, put it back in it s really nice box it came in and store it in my desk drawer, when not in use.It s super stable and puts my hand and neck at perfect drawing angle for 8+ hours of drawing without neck or back strain. I don t use the accessories with them and find them difficult to store.Sadly after a couple months the hinge on one side broke when I opened it. It still works but I hate that I spent this kind of money for a product that has cheap plastic hinges. I m not sure I ll even get a year out of this product and it will be in the trash. Great idea but there s room for improvement on the hinges2Solid platform, stinky rubber gripI like that the DraftTable is adjustable, and really steady under most conditions. I only have one nitpick about the legs, which is that they could have been made out of metal as the main body, and I personally would have been fine with the added weight just to know that it would be rock solid. They are still a sturdy plastic, so I'm not that bummed about that. The only disappointment in this DraftTable is in the choice of cheap rubber that off-gases onto me, my iPad and anything around it. It's just nasty for someone who is sensitive to chemical smells. There are plenty of materials they could have used for gripping the iPad to the plate, but i've had better smelling car tires. The accessories have the same smell. I'm not sure why I decided to pay extra for them. If the smell doesn't go away in a couple days then the wrist pad will be useless. The pen holder will still be usable, but I won't want to adjust it once I place it for fear of transferring more of that smell to my hands. I'm just surprised something so cheap was used on an otherwise quality.4If you draw, get thisI've owned the ParcSlope iPad stand, and while I liked it, I ended up returning it because I found the single angle way too limiting it was also a pain to travel with because it did not fold flat. The DraftTable feels every bit as solid as the all-metal ParcSlope to me, folds flat, and offers 2 *additional* angle adjustments. Or 3 more if you count the very slight angle you get when you close all the legs. So that's 4 in total! It's reassuringly heavy too, it's not going to fly off the desk or slide around. And more to that point, it has a fantastic grip on the bottom of the legs, the edge of the base that touches the table. Your iPad is protected too with quite a luxurious textured (rubber?) grip on the front side where the iPad sits. There's 2 latches that click in to place on the highest angle adjustment, but I'm happy to report that they feel very sturdy and unlikely to break unless you're mistreating it in some way. I think there's even a slight magnetic attraction from the iPad to the metal base, depending on which way you orient the iPad. I use the DraftTable with ProCreate and AstroPad and scoff at the idea of almost blowing $1500 on a Cintiq. The DraftTable is the missing piece of the puzzle.5Wonderful!Wow this may look like your typical iPad stand, but it's surprisingly heavy and absolutely rock solid. Perfect choice of angles, too, for all the places I use the iPad Pro.I normally keep the packaging for a few weeks in case I want to return an item, especially for a product that's new to market. Not this time it all went to the recycle bin almost immediately, and the only place this DraftTable will be going is straight into my computer backpack every time I leave the house. I may end up ordering a second one because it also works really well with my 15" 2016 MacBook Pro.5But it's great and sturdyI don't use this very often having it for 3 months now. But it's great and sturdy. I can even carry it inside my ipad bag when Im using a padded backpack anyway. However, I don't find myself using the wristpad or the pen holder often. This is ideal to use as a desk stand too. When my iPad's not using it, I put my phones there instead and it shows beautifully. No wobble, no issues with durability on the hinges. Very useful for drawing. You can even lay the iPad Pro 12.9 with a protective back cover without issues. This thing can hande it. Heck I even use the Galaxy Note in it if I wanted to. It's heft makes it a burden to carry when you want to pack light so think about it. If I were to purchase this again, maybe I'd choose the stand only to save a few bucks. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it for artists. And if you arent even an artist, you'd want this for using the iPad on a desk. Ideal to use with a bluetooth keyboard. I love it.5A very stable, superior product. Probably the finest stand available, and it's adjustable! This iPad stand has exceeded my expectations. It is VERY stable. Both the large surface upon which the iPad rests and the small lips at the bottom have a rubber (silicone?) liner attached to them. Between this rubber and the sturdiness of the stand itself, your iPad is quite secure. Even if you have no case on your iPad, it's aluminum back and edges will not be damaged by this stand. The stand can be adjusted to any of four different positions. All four positions are quite stable. There is no unpleasant off-gassing smell. I bought the kit version that includes the wrist rest and pencil holder. Everything is entirely black which gives the set a very modern, high-tech look. The pencil holder is nice. It seems to be made entirely of silicone or some other rubber substance so it will not damage the tip of the Apple Pencil. The wrist rest is the nicest wrist rest I've ever seen. It is the perfect height and the perfect firmness. It also looks quite nice and feels great (it is very smooth). I am very rarely this satisfied with any purchase, and I would have still been satisfied if I had paid nearly twice as much as it costs.5Elevation Lab Hits A Home Run With DraftTableI create and produce animation for a living and spend long hours illustrating, designing characters, backgrounds, props, etc. on my iPad Pro. My lower back started giving me problems while drawing as the ergonomics of sitting hunched over the screen was taking a toll on my health and posture. I have tried numerous stands for my iPad but none of them were sturdy enough or had enough adjustable angles. I can honestly say I have never been happier with a product as I am with Elevation Labs DraftTable. This stand is the real deal. It is made of thick metal and has rubber surfaces in all the right places to protect and keep your iPad from slipping. The adjustable angles are well thought out and are allowing me to draw in a much healthier sitting position. And as a bonus, unlike all the other easel-like stands for the iPad, this neatly folds up and slides into your carrying case for portability. The folks at Elevation Labs have hit a home run with this product. It has instantly become an essential and integral part of my iPad experience. It also comes with a rubber wrist as well as a desktop holder for your iPad pencil. Highly, highly recommended.5
