I bought two other card readers, both of which died. One plugged directly into the USB (without a cord) and it overheated (because I left it in all the time). This one, I have left plugged in all the time, and it has not overheated in a few weeks now, and I use it a LOT to read the photos from my Nikon and Canon. This is the fastest card reader I have ever used, and for the price, you simply can not beat it :) I have included a picture of the device in action! I use 2 Amazon Basic USB Hubs (also awesome!), and I plugged the Aluratek into the HUB without a noticeable loss of speed. Also notice my rescue Kitty Bernadette is protecting me from nefarious hackers! :) I usually don't write a lot of reviews, but this thing deserves it! :) 5Very Compact and works Great!We loved how little it was and could still accomodate having different sized ports.
