Customer Reviews

PERFECT product for those who need white noise or music to fall asleep My wife found these for me and it was one of the most thoughtful gifts. I have a hard time falling asleep until around three in the morning, a bad thing for someone who gets up three hours after that. I found an app for my phone that simulates rain in different conditions, and I found some videos on YouTube that help me to drift off. The problem was that any kind of earbuds caused me to wake up in pain since I inevitably roll onto my wide while I sleep. These are soft and flat. I have a large noggin (8 1/4 hat) and the one she got for me fits fine. The headband can also double as a blindfold so that no light gets through. You can take out the speakers and wash the headband. I lost my first pair while moving and immediately bought another. These are perfect for anyone who needs white noise or music to fall asleep. 5I have tinnitus and I like to watch TV to go to sleep without disturbing ... I have tinnitus and I like to watch TV to go to sleep without disturbing my wife. I have a Roku 3 and use the headphone jack on the remote. I've tried to sleep with headphones, and probably 8 different style ear buds, and they all became very uncomfortable or kept falling out whn I moved, often before I even fell asleep. And then I'd wake up in the middle of the night trying to take them off and then was kept awake by the discomfort they caused.I have none of that now. These sound great, and I'm actually pleased that they don't block ambient noise; I can still hear the thunderstorms or the rhythmic sound of my wife's breathing as I watch Netflix. My daughter is thrilled that I now can experience the frustration of finding the most comfortable way to wear a headband, which is exacerbated by having to make the speakers line up with your ears, but it's a far more minor annoyance than is caused by the alternative devices I've tried. 4These are changing my life I've been battling insomnia for a few months now after having my first child (thanks, hormones), and one thing that motherhood has brought on was a decent bout of anxiety at bedtime and racing thoughts when I woke up in the middle of the night. Nothing, NOTHING was working, even though I was taking a myriad of different vitamins, medicines, listening to certain meditations, NOTHING. Then, to make matters worse, my husband's snoring was ramping up and would also catch me right as I was about to drift back to sleep. Ear plugs wouldn't drown out the sound of his snoring, and they were extremely painful to wear night after night for 3-4 months. I needed a solution that would drown out my husband's noise and help suppress my racing mind without being too bulky or disruptive over night.Enter SleepPhones. I had done a very quick search one ultra-groggy morning for noise canceling headphones for sleep, and this was the first thing that popped up. I ordered it immediately and it arrived the next day. That night, I slept very, very soundly for the first time in months. The headphones were lighter and simpler than I really expected, but that didn't keep them from doing their job. I love the design - the headphones can be shifted inside the headband with great ease, and the cable is just about the right length. Won't lie, wish it were maybe a foot longer, but I'm not one who rolls around in bed so it's not caused any major issue yet. I've just pulled my iPhone off the bedside table once or twice when I sit up, but that's it.These SleepPhones have been phenomenal to use with two of my favorite sleep apps for my iPhone (Noisli, Brainwave 32 Binaural Programs). For extra help with sleeping, I wear an eye mask over the headband (which I wear over my eyes anyway), and the slight added pressure of the eye mask helps keep the headphones snugly over my ears for extra noise cancellation. I'm sleeping so, so, so much better this past week of having these headphones than I have since my son was born 8 months ago.I cannot recommend this product enough if you're struggling with racing thoughts or a spouse that snores. Those two apps and these headphones have helped keep those racing thoughts out and have also helped mute any distracting outside noise. You can't tell when you first put the headphones on that they're going to work as well as they do, but when you connect them to a white noise machine or app on your phone, they really shine.Oh, and some people said weirdness about sizing. Medium worked fine for me! Please give these a shot if you want uninterrupted, delightful sleep. These headphones are phenomenal! 5I like 'em The overall quality is pretty decent. Better than just so-so, but not 5-star amazing.Pros:The cord is braided to help ensure a longer life and less tangles. This is great since it will take more of a beating than a pair of headphones you wear just sitting around. The cord is also longer than most headphones. Great to plug them into something that's not directly next to you. The material is plenty soft and comfortable enough that it is comfortable enough to wear for hours. The headphones can be re-positioned inside the headband as well. Helpful to ensure they can be positioned exactly where you need them, and they can be removed to wash the headband when needed. The sewing also seems strong enough to hold up well.Considerations/Cons:The headphones themselves need to be placed directly over your ears. Otherwise, you have to turn the volume to max to hear softer sounds (ie soft sounds, or while there are external environmental noises). But once in place there's no problem with the sound. The headphones can be re-positioned inside the headband, but this allows them to move around if it's not tight enough on your head. Again, that's only if it's not tight enough on you. Otherwise, that shouldn't be a problem.Again, I am happy with these and feel that they were a good purchase for the money. 4These used to work alot better. Now they break way too quickly These used to work alot better. Now they break way too quickly. This last pair only lasted a few months before the left earpiece died. I've had three pair now. The first pair lasted over a year. They were the model with black fleece headband and black headphone cord. The second set was this model with blue headband and grey coated cord. They lasted a little less than a year. The major problem is that the cords come disconnected to the earpieces or the section that splits the earpieces. Once they become disconnected the headphones no longer work. Not sure if the quality control has changed or the manufacturing. Will not buy again 1not well built and break within 6 months I have a love/hate relationship with these headphones. They are the most comfortable to sleep with that I have found. Unfortunately they are not well built and break within 6 months. I'm on my third pair already. Every time they break I buy a competitor because I'm tired of them not lasting. But then I keep coming back to them because do far the competition are much less comfortable. I just bought another cheaper competitor and I'm hoping they will work because I'm tired of this brand breaking so easily. 2Help for sleeping with a snorer I am a very light sleeper and my husband snores. I don't want to sleep in another room. I have tried so many things. Plus I have tinnitus so I avoided earplugs for a very long time. But I needed to get my sleep. I have been using Sleepphones for a few years. They are pretty good but don't completely block out the sound. However, I saw another reviewer write that she used earplugs with the Sleepphones. I tried Mack's earplugs but they hurt my ears, causing too much pressure and keeping me awake. Finally, I tried Hearos Pillow Soft WITH the Sleepphones and voila! No snoring! Even with the tinnitus, it's not too bad. I use a track called Snoreerasr which you can find here [...] or you can try music or white noise. Thank goodness I can finally block out the snoring. Ths is the first combo I have found that works! 5They Do The Job They Were Made For I've had these headphones for about a year. I use them almost every night. I've listed the pros and cons below:Pros1. They are very comfortable. I don't feel them at all when I sleep.2. Sound quality is good for the type of earphones they are. The earphones inside are only about 1/8 in thick.3. The outer headband is washable which is nice.4. The position of the earbuds on the inside are adjustable.Cons1. The earbuds don't last very long. Because the earbuds are so thin, I think they actually break if you're a side sleeper. I sleep mainly on my back, but start out on my side. After a year of this, the earbud wound up breaking. I've seen other reviews that the wires don't hold up. I haven't had that experience.2. The replacement earbuds are very expensive. They run about $30, which is close to what I paid for the headband and earbuds. I wound up finding a flat earbud made for motorcycle helmets that only cost $7. I'm going to try that out and see if it will work.3. Because the earbuds aren't stationary, they tend to move around over the course of wearing them. It's a small irritation, but not something that would hinder me from using them.4. The headband does tend to move around during the night. Again, a small irritation and not something that would hinder me from using them. After doing some research, I saw someone use an elastic hairband inside the headband, which kept them in place. I am also going to try that to see if it gives me a better fit.All in all, I like the product for what it does. There are a few things about it that I think could be improved, but they do the job they were made for. And since I've had them for a year, it's not like I could return them when the earbuds went out. 3Great, while they worked. Great, while they worked. I had been sleeping in ear buds, then regular headphones, then bluetooth headphones until I found out about sleep headphones. I was so excited to have a much more comfortable nights sleep with them. This was the first pair, in December. They broke within two days. These were the upper end of the sleep phone brands from what I could tell, so I was surprised. Fluke, maybe? So I returned the defective ones, waited anxiously for the replacements because going back to hard headphones, ouch!!! So I was so excited when they were replaced. They were a medium, lavender, very soft, and I loved them. It's true that you really need to get the placement just right because these are not powered speakers, nor do they sit in your ears (painfully for sleep, for me at least) like ear buds. So I did find myself constantly having to rearrange the position of each speaker many times a night, and the medium was strangely large (and my sister laughs all the time at my baby pictures because of my enormous head, which she says I still haven't grown into, nice!!!) So I was worried they'd be too tight, but instead were slipping down over my face all the time (both pairs). Of course that meant I would have to rearrange the speakers again. Argh. Still worlds better than painful plastic headphones, but getting harder to believe that. Then again, these ones broke. They worked since they were returned/replaced sometime after Christmas, or so, and it's now April 6th. So they lasted a little over three months, which really isn't that long for the price/brand. So I am back here looking, this time for bluetooth because of the wire problem, but after reading so many reviewers saying that they wished they spent more for the sleep phones, instead of buying cheap ones that broke quickly, I realized brand may not matter. They need to work out the kinks and flaws, and until then, I'm better off not spending more on a brand. Hopefully soon they'll come up with quality, comfort, and won't break too fast!!! Just wanted to give a heads up for others looking as well. 2One of the speaker wires broke after 2 months. UPDATE. WIRE BROKE IN 2 MONTHS. ARRRR. Ordered the xs and it fit!. This is my second pair of this brand. For me they last about 4 months...I use them every night and the speakers are thin and decent quality but I break the cord where it meets the end piece to plug in. I really want to go with Bluetooth but not sure if they will work decently or not. The headband is right width for me...I use these to listen to tv or I music and not for covering my eyes. After months of constant wear the headband does stretch out just a bit but again, I use these all the time and end up sleeping with it on yah rough the night. Get these every time over the really cheap ones which won't last at all. 1
